Merlijn Hooijsma (1999) is the kind of photographer who always carries a camera with him. With an extraordinary zest for life, he captures whatever catches his curious eye: a smiling mouth, a frog, a hand against the clouds, or a breathtaking landscape — in Hooijsma’s magical world, everything matters. His images are playful, colorful, sometimes stylized, but often shot spontaneously. However different they may be, they are united by a pleasant lightness — as if to say: life is beautiful.
Hooijsma graduated from the Fotoacademie Amsterdam in 2023.
